Hooray for Cinco de Mayo! Which isn't really Mexico's independence day, you know. But they beat the French, and I guess that's worth celebrating.
One of our elementary schools had a Cinco de Mayo party the Friday before. You know, I get stressed out when I do face painting for people, but sometimes at events like this, the people are much sloppier than I am, and no one seems to care. So in the future, neither will I. Much.

Tori ran into her friends there.

I can't get good action shots. I swear I used to be able to. I don't know if the camera is having trouble or if I am. Anyway, here are some pinata shots.
And then we made our own pinata. We did this kind when I was little. You dip strips of newspaper in a flour and water mixture and then put them on a balloon. It's messy and it feels like the kids aren't getting it flat enough or even enough, but then it dries and it's fine.

Tori took these shots of the other kids swinging so I could record them. (Does anyone say "videotape them" anymore? That's still what I say.)

Sweet John. When I get an idea for an activity, he always gets roped into figuring out the logistics - like how to hang the pinata.
I also made tacos and flan. The flan was really good this year.

It seems like you are celebrating something fun almost every week! What a great and creative mom you are. (And John is a good sport to support all your festivities.)
