In lieu of the Bear Lake trip this year, Greg organized a camping trip to Tony Grove. I hadn't been there for years. It used to be one of my favorite spots when I was little, and it lived up to my memories - or exceeded them. There were wildflowers everywhere, and the same amazing rock outcroppings that I remembered. I have got to get back there! I hope I can time it right to see all of the wildflowers again. I couldn't stop commenting on them. It was probably worth all the prep, packing, take down, and unpacking that camping requires. Probably.
Most of these shots were taken from Nancy's blog. They were too beautiful not to steal.
Evening is my favorite time when camping. I love watching the fire, roasting marshmallows, and just sitting around and visiting. (I remembered that I don't necessarily love the sleeping portion of camping with little ones. I hadn't done that for a while.)

I love being with my family! Everyone was so sweet with the kids, and just...fun.
The only problem with this trip was that Tori wasn't with us. She had committed to going to girls' camp, and it was on the same weekend. I always feel a bit unsettled when one of my kids is off somewhere. How on earth am I going to handle their missions? I'll just cross that bridge when I come to it - and have faith.
