At the school science fair, Eli took third in his category, and Tori didn't place. I had looked around at all of the projects, and the placements seemed a little suspect, but I figured I was biased. (Not really, I was a bad example, and grumbled about it for a while.) Then the regional science fair came. Mrs. DeBerard mentioned to me that one student couldn't go, and said that they ought to take Tori. So, Tori ended up being an unofficial, last-minute entry. It was held at USU. I got there in time for the awards assembly at the end. Tori's category came up, and she took 1st place! (It was very dramatic, as they announced 3rd, 2nd...then Tori!) I was so happy for her, but then worried about Eli, if he didn't do well. But then Eli took 1st in his category! I was so happy. I suddenly understood all of the parents who live for their childrens' success. :)
Two kids in our ward also took first in their categories. 6th Ward sweep!
