Maggie's Birthday 2015

This is a picture of Maggie on the morning of her birthday. We let her open a couple of gifts before school.

We had a great princess/knight party for her, but my friend has all of the pictures. (She was our photographer for the day.) I'll post more soon-ish.

Update:
I don't have the pictures still, which is a shame. We had different stations, with games and cupcake decorating. At one of them, the kids built a trebuchet out of marshmallows and sticks. The boys got swords, and the girls got princess cups. I don't remember all of the details, but it was one of my best. :)

Also, I found this draft that I never published:

I've been feeling a little stressed lately with the pressures of teaching, but there are still plenty of happy moments.

The other night, the kids were using a site that creates a picture/design using their name and words they plug in to describe themselves. Maggie put "ilovemom" as one of her descriptive words. It struck me as a beautiful thing that she included her love for me as one of her identifying features. And then, to further my self-esteem boost, Maggie insisted on making one for me. She needed help, so I suggested she put "Mom" and "Teacher" on it. She wanted more, so she went to ask Tori for some words to describe me. She added "pretty" and "caring." I have never been a real beauty, but I am to my kids.

Having children makes me happy.

While I'm here, let me add another cute Maggie thing:

Maggie got a magic set for Christmas. She likes to make up her own tricks with the props. Yesterday, she showed me a handful of colorful cards and told me to pick one. Then she put them all in a box and said, "Now, secretly whisper your color to me." I did so, and she was able to successfully chose my card from inside. She's good.
