Happy Autumn!

The elementary schools in our district are divided by grades. Jonah, Tori, and Eli all go to different elementary schools (which is why I started sending them on the bus - I can't drive them all and get there in time). Eli's school is in another town twenty minutes from our house. Crazy. Last month, he forgot his folder, so I ran it to the school. Instead of taking the main road back, I decided to go on the backroads. I wound around and got pretty lost, but I wasn't in a hurry. It was all farm land and it was gorgeous. I had my camera with me, so I stopped often to take pictures. Here are my favorites:

These are pictures from around the house/area:
This is a little family plot at the bottom of our hill - in the Ithaca direction.
This is our view in the front yard.
I took this in the backyard.
Last year this tree was bright red.  This year it was orange.  Why is that?  Moisture?  Temperature?
Jonah and I loved this sunrise.  Jonah falls asleep more quickly than anyone I've ever known, but then he wakes up horribly early every morning.  Always.
The fall colors weren't quite as brilliant this year. At first, the leaves started just going brown and dying, and I was stressed. :) But then the later trees were more colorful. I am so grateful for beautiful seasons. My kids seem to enjoy them as much as I do.

I love that little family plot near your house. I know some people think cemeteries are creepy, but I think they are lovely. I often run through the N. Ogden one and read names on the graves and wonder about the people, and I loved in WA how many little plots were behind churches, etc.

And, yes, I wonder about the leaves because this year we have some crazy red and shockingly vibrant leaves in our backyard, but I don't think they were so red in past years. Maybe I've just forgotten.

Anywho, wish you guys lived closer, but it is shockingly gorgeous there!
