| Max started out under the tree, but he soon climbed up in it, jumped at it, and did everything possible to mangle it by the end of the month. |

| This was a local winter carnival. That's an ice sculpture in the background. The school kids sang, and there was free food.... |

| Instead of buying the gingerbread sets that have stale cookies and lame treats, we made our own house cookies. (I got this pan and some of the candies at the after-Halloween sales.) |

| Winter can be pretty. But it's still mostly a downer for me. |

| But the kids enjoy the snow. |
