We had a fabulous Halloween this year! The kids' school in Utah wouldn't let them wear costumes on Halloween, so it was fun to find out that they do costume parades here. The parents all go line up, and the kids file past. At Jonah's school, they had high school honor students come over to help the kids get into costume. Jonah almost didn't wear his Hulk feet because I said they were so cute when we first got the costume. He does NOT like to be cute. (But isn't he?)

| That is Jonah's best friend, Cameron, behind him. |
| Tori's best friend, Josie, is in front of her in this picture. |
| Tori isn't necessarily into princesses anymore, but I had reward points at the Disney store. :) And she makes such a cute princess! |
| They obviously allowed masks, so he wore it. |
| Our ward party. Mom was visiting, which made it even more fun. Unfortunately, I was face painting, which is a little stressful, and it kept me from interacting with people much. But I volunteered.... (John wore his Prince Charming costume, and I wore a fun Snow White dress that Kimberly got for me. Those pictures are fuzzy, but we'll take more next year.) |
| Our valley does a Halloween parade. It is just like the 4th of July parades back home, but in Halloween costumes. |
| So fun to have Mom with us! We haven't lived here long enough for me to fully feel like a part of things. At the parade in Syracuse, we had been so often, and we knew so many people who passed by, that it felt different. It just takes time. |
Hurricane Sandy came in a couple of days before Halloween, so our town postponed the trick-or-treating until the beginning of the next week. (Mom was able to fly out a day early and missed the storm. It ended up not hitting our area very hard.) So, on Halloween, we had a really relaxed, fun night! I made our dinner in a pumpkin, without the usual rush. Then we built a fire in the breezeway, popped popcorn, and read Harry Potter aloud. It was really cozy. I think we should do something like that the night before or after Halloween every year.

| Dinner in a Pumpkin! One of my favorite traditions. |
| Had to include the silly picture. |
| Posing before going Trick-or-Treating. Most people go along the main street in Waverly with all of the historical Victorian homes. It was kind of crowded, but had a fun community, Norman Rockwell kind of feel. |

I don't know why exactly, but seeing all the kids dressed up and parading around at my kids' school is one of the most happy things that ever seems to exist!
