Miscellaneous

Maggie is doing and saying more things that need to be recorded here in my "journal." She points to things and says, "this" and "that." I think I already said that she can crawl, but she's also been pulling herself up to standing. She often sits with her legs sprawled and her hands on the ground in front of her and bounces energetically - with that big open-mouthed smile of hers. She absolutely loves our toy dolls - she calls them "baby." She also really likes to have stuffed animals in her crib with her. I'll add more things as I remember.

Jonah started preschool a couple of weeks ago. I'm teaching him with another great group of moms. There are five kids in our preschool. Here are some pictures from last week. In the second one they're showing their bunny ears and tails.
Part of Eli's homework is reading every night. Last year it was hard to get him to do it, so this year I made a "reading corner" in the playroom and told him he could get some snacks, and curl up in a chair and read. He prefers to read non-fiction books, and I've got them organized on the shelf so he can easily find the ones he likes. I get a little frustrated with the mandatory reading, because he'll often just pick things up to read, but if I tell him to do it for a certain amount of time, it feels like work. I put some books in the bathroom too, and that works well. :)
