Tennis Camp

The kids had such a fun opportunity this summer! Dandys (a local gas station chain) sponsored a week-long, free tennis camp. We had to drive to Towanda early each morning, which was no small thing - but it was free! The kids are hesitant about new things sometimes, but a ward friend who did it last year told them about the prize wheel they got to spin each day, and my kids were in.

They were good at it, and really enjoyed it.  It was run by a high school teacher, along with a former and a current player of hers.  They were all great with the kids.  Maggie watched with me the first couple of days, but there was a little girl who seemed to be about her age, so she decided she wanted to try.  They were really cute with her.  (One day as they were running a warm-up lap, the teacher ran next to her.  Maggie later said, "Guess what?  The teacher runs as fast as I do!")
One day Eli won a large pizza!

One of the moms told me that they had small rackets on a great sale at Kmart, so we got three for the older kids.  There are multiple parks with tennis courts around, and one has a wall that they can hit the ball against.  I hope this will be a life-long sport for them!!

It looks like they had such a good time! What a good mom you are to seek out things like this for them.
