Sophia the First

There is a new show on the Disney Channel called Sophia the First. Maggie and Tori got excited about it as they saw the commercials and then the "premiere." One of my former cheerleaders, Janelle, posted a picture of her cute little girl wearing a replica of Sophia's amulet that she had made. I asked how she made it, and she offered to send one for Maggie. It came just in time for one of the new episodes. Maggie and I got some treats during school and when the kids got home, we had a tea party. (The boys were willing to join in for the sake of the treats.)

I think that to some degree most of us create experiences for our kids based on things we enjoyed -or would have enjoyed- when we were young. I loved dolls and dress ups and imaginative things. (I played with Barbies long past the time period that was normal, I'm afraid.) I would have LOVED all of the princess-related things that are available now. And heaven knows I love a good treat. Hence the Sophia the First tea party :)

(I know soda pop is the worst possible thing to have.  I swear this was a one-time deal.)
Everything Maggie is wearing here was Tori's.  Isn't it fun to pull out a box of old clothes and see them worn again?
Proper tea drinking form.
