Last year, we had just moved here, so they let Eli reuse his first gold car. However, they use an old track here, and his car had a balance issue, so it went off the track sometimes. He didn't win any races and was a little sad. (Maybe it's good to experience that so you can be empathetic?) In any case, this year was different. John and Eli worked hard and came up with a really fast "flying wedge." He won a lot of individual races and took third overall. But then I had to be sad for the boys who didn't win.
Our Syracuse ward had a fancy computerized system on a big screen to determine and display the winners. This ward used the old fashioned method:

They had some really cute car treats for refreshments. We're getting to know people in the Elmira ward where Eli goes for scouts, and it has been a good thing for him.
