Happy Birthday, Jonah!

Two years ago, our Jonah came into the world. I'm getting teary thinking about it. It's interesting to think how much a child changes your life. We were happy before he came, but we couldn't be happy now without him. He is such a fun boy. His latest thing is to always ask, "Hey, Mom, what's that sound?" whenever he hears something. He copies whatever the kids say or do - especially Eli. He loves to go outside and ride his "motorcycle" (trike) or scooter. He loves the show "Max and Ruby" - even though kids under two shouldn't watch TV, I know, I know. He still loves to play up on the monkey bars. The picture below shows him precariously perched right by the ceilng where Eli had been making a fort.

We had the cowboy party before, but on his actual birthday, we had a hodgepodge of themes. We had Thomas the train decorations, went to Chuck E. Cheese, and had a robot cake that I believe is from some kids' show. He got a train table and a number of trains and Thomas things. He has been playing with them non-stop since. Tori gave him a Winnie the Pooh plate set, and Eli gave him a Spiderman car.
For Memorial Day, we did a campout in the backyard. (The ultimate stay-cation.) We roasted marshmallows in our little fire pit. It was really fun for the kids. :)

Here are a couple of shots of Tori. She had some ears from Primary that she wore the whole day. It turned out that she was scared to take them off because when she had tried at church, the tape stuck to her hair and hurt her. I thought she just really liked them.

Hey, that is so funny. None of my other kids have asked me that, but Penny is also always asking, "What's that sound?" Often there are numerous sounds about -- birds, cars, the dishwasher, etc. so I'm not always sure. Cute that they both wonder that. Maybe they can ask each other all about the sounds they hear (both asking and neither answering) at the next family party.

The camp out looked super fun. What a good idea!
