Primary on the brain

I haven't had much time to write. My primary calling has been all-consuming lately. Since our ward is new, we had to start from scratch on absolutely everything, so it's been really crazy. This calling has been a great blessing. My testimony has grown in many specific ways. And I have developed an even greater love and appreciation for the people in our ward, as I pour over ward lists considering who would do well where. So many people have already gone so far beyond what their calling would require. I've been really, really pleased. You've never seen a stronger Primary Board. One of the things I love about our ward is that we've got a development of homes that are for older people. (I don't know what the age requirement is, but they have smaller homes and don't allow kids.) Anyway, we have a number of these sweet grandparents in our Primary, and they are so incredibly sweet with the kids.

Not much else to write about. I love our little life. As the future looks more ominous, I just keep wanting to retreat into our simple life and hide away somehow.

The kids are getting very excited for Disneyland. I bought some advent calendars that were still lingering in the Christmas clearance section, so they could count down to the day we leave. I'll often start singing, "We're going to Disneyland and we're going to see...." and Jonah will say "Goofy!" or "Incredibles!" or some other Disney character.
