Our Weekend

What a great weekend! First, I read Precious Bane by Mary Webb. It had beautiful descriptions of the Shropshire area in the early 1800's. I really enjoyed her character development and general insight into human nature. At first I thought I would love to have lived then, but the novel showed me once again that it only would have been bearable for the very rich, and even then you'd be unlikely to find anyone as enlightened as Kester (one of the characters). Anyway, I don't let myself read novels too often, because I get so absorbed, and am good for little until I'm done. But, I sure enjoy it. Jonah was walking a bit behind a little push car yesterday. We finally got the video camera out to catch up on his latest accomplishments.

We went to the local amusement park Saturday. (I am trying to remember not to put things here that can help identify us or our location.) We splurged and got season passes, which I love! We can go when the weather is good, rather than waiting for discount days when it is invariably too hot, and we can stay just a short time if we choose. Saturday, the weather was cool and pleasant, and there were no lines at all. We went on a number of rides in a fairly short time, and then went home.

I was looking at the blog of my sister-in-law, Nancy, and that of her sister, and I finally realized why their pictures look so much cooler than mine. They do close-ups of faces, and I just do long shots. I'm a little slow, I know, but I've got it now. So, here are my new efforts:

Marn, I'm so glad you liked Precious Bane. I'm always nervous about telling someone to read a book I love in case they are like, "what? that was crummy!"

Also, I was laughing about trying not to be too sepecefic about where you live. I am always thinking the same thing, like, "oh no! I've mentioned oceans, lots of rain, narrow strip of oppocum territory . . . it's narrowing it down far too much :)"

I love that you have season passes. I know our kids would lvoe to go do rides, etc. but I get so burnt out trying to do an all day get your moneys worth sort of thing. I guess that is why a season pass would be so great, you just go as long as you want.

Lastly, yes, while close ups don't capture the fun as well, I've always noticed that they are the pics I like best. Yours look great! Especially I loved Jonahs blue eyes. Wow. All your kids got such gorgeous bright eyes!

MARNIE!!!

This is an Official Hello from Jana!

It has been a long time since we've seen each other back at the ol' BYU and I am officially coming out of the blogging closet to say hello and comment on your blog. I must admit, I have been lurking on your blog for a couple of weeks now - peeking at your darling kids -and why is it that I felt so guilty? I know you and we share aunting duties, but I guess I'm not "official family" - so I felt funny. But I guess this is the beauty of the blog - that we can catch up with good friends AND family. So hopefully you won't mind that I've been lurking. So fun to see your family!

We are two lucky gals to get to share those Sanders kids!

Come visit my blog sometime if you haven't already!

Hey, I was going to comment on your new blog look from yesterday, but I think it might be totally different today! Megan keeps changing hers everyday because she is a fickle blogger (or maybe there are just too many cute ones out there?). Anyway, what you have going here at present is very cute!

Decmber 2020 - Merry Christmas!

I'm trying to catch up, so I won't write a lot. The videos from Christmas eve and morning will give a more complete picture of what ...
