Haircuts, etc.

Not much going on in my world that's new. We got a web cam of some sort, largely so we could see my brother Greg's new baby. Well, Greg suggested it, and John doesn't need to be told twice to buy a new gadget. (Just like I don't need much -if any- encouragement to buy kids clothes and accessories.) So, if anyone else has access to Skype, and would like to see us while speaking, let us know.

The boys got their heads shaved. Eli was scared, and so I had to hold him down screaming at first, but then he saw (again) that it wasn't so bad, and he was brave for the rest. A friend from church did their hair and my highlights and I was quite pleased.

I will also include a picture of Eli with one of his Kid K'nex creations. He loves that set and plays with it endlessly.

John has taken Eli for an outing to a place with skating and a bounce area. When I was younger, my mom and dad would take one of us on a "date" once a month, so we could have some one-on-one time with them. We decided that John will take each of the kids once a month to wherever they choose, since they don't get as much time with him. I get to take the kids to fun places frequently, and he usually misses out, so this is good all around. Eli was so excited to go.

I don't think I've written about our preschool for Eli here. I get together with three other moms and we rotate teaching our kids. We have it twice a week, and we end up teaching about once a month. We have frequent field trips to places like a candy factory, Papa John's, the train museum, a pumpkin farm, etc. I did this last year also, but I am enjoying it even more this year. The moms are a bit more conscientious and creative, and I like the schedule we've set up. (We did Joy School last year, and I wasn't as big a fan as most people seem to be. Some of it was a bit too advanced for three-year-olds, like the songs, and it required quite a bit of prepartation without better results.) Anyway, I've got some other wonderful friends to teach with next year for Tori. I guess I'll be doing this for some time, since my kids are two years apart and I do it two years each. :) Here's a picture from the beginning of the year. (When I teach, Tori joins us.)

Cute haircuts, Marn. I didn't really think Eli and Jonah looked alike until looking at them together in that photo!
