Oh my. Last night Jonah wouldn't cry himself to sleep because he started standing up, and he doesn't know how to get down. So he probably would have drifted off, but he couldn't because he was clinging to the side of the crib. The other problem is that he has thrush and hasn't been sleeping well. (Thrush is a pain to deal with. Have anyone else's kids had that?)

(I have edited this next paragraph so you don't have to hear too much about sick kids and the details that go with it. But you still might not want to eat at the computer while you read. Or you can skip to the next paragraph.) I had just fallen asleep when Eli came crying to the side of our bed and threw up all over everything in the vicinity. (OK, I didn't edit that part.) He had also just been sick on his bed. It took forever to clean things up well enough to get us all back to bed. John went and slept with him in the spare room downstairs. Eli continued to be sick for another few hours off and on. Tori got sick in the early morning hours. We thought that everyone was done today, but then Tori was sick again this evening and contaminated a large area upstairs as well. You would be hard pressed to find a pleasant-smelling room in our house right now. I'll call the carpet/couch cleaners first thing tomorrow.

Actually, the worst thing is not the smell :) but the little pale faces and bodies as they shiver and cry after being sick. It breaks my heart.

You might be wondering why I am here typing when I'm so sleep deprived. So am I. It's the "Night Me" that Nancy referred to. No regard for "Late afternoon Me" which is when I really feel it.

I won't include photos for this post.

I am so sorry you have sick kids! That sounds like one of the hardest things to deal with. I wish we lived closer and could come help you out so you could get some rest. I hope they all get better soon....and hopefully you and John won't get sick as well!

Oh Marn, i am so so sorry!! Sick kids is the worst ever, but especially when throw up is involved, then it isn't just snuggle and comfort them, it is clean up throw up and try to wash them off while they ar all miserable. I'm so so so sorry for you. It's so rough with a couple kids too because it just makes the rounds.
Also, that is so weird about Jonah standing up. Penny knows how to go down fine on her own if I just sing a little and put her in bed, but she kept waking lately to eat -- which I know she doesn't need. I suddenly remembered that once Daisy could stand it was impossible to let her cry it out because they won't just lie down, they basically have to cry to such exhaustion that they just collapse!! I remember I'd just go in and pat her and lie her back down every few minutses and she'd drag herself back up -- it's like they literally can't stop!! I think Penny is back to sleeping through the night though so that is good -- well, for me :(
