Jonah is suddenly standing up (leaning), crawling up on his knees and wanting to go down our little slide. We've never had a baby be so active so soon, and I don't think I like it. One, I have to be much more vigilant, two, he is not nearly as cuddly. I was noticing yesterday and again this morning that he doesn't want to sit on my lap much anymore. He squirms like crazy until I put him down so he can get moving. Time to have a new baby, I guess, so I've got a little one to cuddle again. (Definitely kidding.)

Also this morning he was bouncing/dancing as we sang "Happy Birthday." (That's one of Eli and Tori's favorite games. They pretend to decorate, yell "surprise," play party games, eat cake and open presents. It's very well-scripted; you can't leave any part out.)

I love the picture in the hat. Penny is only army crawling, but even with that I was thinking, "what was my hurry!" as all she does is head stright for any possible thing in the house I might not want her to head for -- plugs, papers, small things to choke on, etc. etc.

He sure is cute, Marnie! but it is sad when they start to outgrow that snuggling and are ready to be out and about the world. Kind of like watching Grace walk into kindergarten the first day!
