Crazy Intense Utah Fun

We have so many fun relatives, that we could have just spent the month in Utah hanging out with them at my parents' house. But we had lots of great people AND lots of activities! On this morning, we went to Pleasant View's Founders Day parade. The kids got plenty of candy, which is the criteria for a good parade. And we were with Nancy and Mike's family, which certainly factors in.

After the parade, we tried some old-fashioned trout catching. (Eli abstained. He thought it was cruel.)

And then face painting:

Later on, we had a barbeque with many of the locals in Mike's back yard. Dad and his crew of sons and grandkids performed. Really, this is the kind of moment that I miss most.

Next, we were back on the road with the wonderful Wagner kids. The zoo wasn't much less crowded on this day, but we went anyway.
These two are so cute together.

The train and its route are new. The area is called "African Savannah" or something similar, and you can see lions, ostriches, zebras, etc. The train is a much better deal now.
The old water fountain and new statues:

Tori and Maggie love peacocks, so they were so excited to see this guy.
Loved the bird show.

The SLC Pass also included a meal at the Lion House restaurant. The kids were probably most excited about this from the beginning. They were able to pick sides (like jello) and a fancy dessert. Truly, they couldn't have enjoyed the experience more.

We worked off the big lunch by walking over to Temple Square.
Not sure about the silly temple shot.
Here's a serious one.
