John and Eli produced a beautiful car this year. But it was stressful. John went to Pittsburgh for work the days before. They had spent a lot of time
on the body, but the wheels still needed to be put on. John got home from work right before we needed to leave, and everything seemed to go wrong with the last minute efforts.
In the end, they just had to turn it in with the wheels not quite right. But it still did very well! Eli got 1st place out of the Webelos and 4th place overall.
AND my refreshment contribution was a big hit:
Our (Elmira Ward) track was really bad in the past, but this year they invested in a new, fancy one. It took away the guess-work, which can cause a little tension among fathers and scouts.

I'm enjoying my calling as Webelos leader. It's helping me get to know the members of the Elmira Ward better, and I am happy to know more about the scouting system. It was all a blur before, but now I can help Eli with confidence!
