4th of July 2013

Last year, we had a fun Independence Day by going to Watkins Glen, and then having a big party with ward friends.  However, it didn't feel like my traditional 4th of July.  I needed the parade and big fireworks.  There isn't a parade here in the Valley, so I found one in Candor, a town not far away.  It was small and we were too hot, but it was still fun.  My favorite things were the bagpipe band and the fife and drum group.
Tori's new friend, Megan, is sitting beside her.  I really hope they can be in the same class next year.  I know her mom, and we've gotten them together a few times this summer.

Sat. night, they had fireworks in the Valley.  We met a family in the ward there, but I forgot to take my camera so it is undocumented. :)  They were the best fireworks I've ever seen!  (John said that Chesapeake donates a fair amount to the city for them.)  Maggie only saw the first few and then fell asleep.

Looks fun! I would have loved the fife and drum group and the bagpipe band. That's a step up from our parade!
