Mt. Pisgah

In Sept. we had a ward picnic at Mt. Pisgah. The park has a lot of open space, a large pond (lake?), and beautiful hills in the background. After lunch, they planned a lot of old-fashioned activities, as you'll see in the pictures. We had a big turn-out and it was really a pleasant day.
The boys in the three-legged race.
In front here is a really fun couple that moved to Harrisburg.
The kids' sack race.
It's a beautiful setting.  There is also a free swimming pool at this park that we've been in a couple of times.  (Big free pools aren't rare around here.  Taxes....)
Here's John practicing for the nail pounding contest.
An investigator brought his cotton candy machine.  (Unfortunately, I haven't seen him since.)
Some sweet members of our ward - Bro. Hansen, Bro. Campbell, and Bro. Kunz.

The Primary had little prizes hidden in sawdust for the kids to find.
One of Tori's prizes was this little dollar-store pony.  (She took it to school for "show & tell" the next week, and someone said, "A  little pony?  Really?"  I felt worse about it than she did.  Dang kid.)
They did a separate hunt for the nursery kids.
John playing horseshoes with the missionaries.
Jonah in the frying pan throwing contest.  (See the pan flying off to the right?)
Maggie's up!
