Summer Break #2

Another day this last week, we went to the Binghamton Zoo. It is next to the Discovery Museum, so we went there again after. It is not a big zoo, but it is in a beautiful location. The setting helped enhance the experience, I thought. It didn't have a lot of big animals, but the kids still seemed excited to see each exhibit.
This is in front of the penguin and otter exhibits. I like it because Eli said the light was too bright, so I told them to close their eyes until I said,"Three." Only Maggie opened her eyes in time.
When we went back to the museum, they were having an Earth Day celebration. There were craft projects and free ice cream sundaes.
Here are the kids with baby ducklings:
I thought more than once as we were returning from these outings, that I felt more like myself taking the kids to places like this. This is what I do. :) So, I'm happy to have found some spots that I can get a membership to and feel like a part of things.

This little zoo reminded me of Grant's Farm in St. Louis because it was little and just had small fun exhibits! It's amazing how getting into a regular routine - doing the things you enjoy doing as a family -makes life so much more enjoyable. You are a great mom - I'm happy you are feeling more like yourself after you've been through so much!
