Old Traditions Die Hard

When we were in Ohio, the missionaries asked our kids to tell one of our family traditions. They couldn't think of anything. :) I was thinking that some of our favorite traditions were dependent on our location. For example, every year I took the kids to Black Island Farms for Halloween, Festival of Trees in Dec., and the Davis Co. Fair in Aug. Luckily, we have a huge list of things to do and see here in NY and PA. We'll see which ones become traditions. The Corning Factory is nearby, and I've heard that the kids can try glass blowing and make a bowl or something. That sounds like a contender. Also, we're in the Palmyra Temple district, so it will be hard to get a babysitter to watch the kids long enough for the drive and the session. So, we thought that occasionally we can get a hotel room, take turns going to a session, and go to the Sacred Grove and the Smith homestead, etc. Anyway, here's a last look (for now) at the Davis County Fair this last Aug.

Such great pictures! I'm impressed by how brave Eli and Tori were (holding a big spider!). They all tried out so many fun things.

Oh my goodness. You're kids are so brave. Jack got a remote controlled tarantula for Christmas and that's probably as close as I will ever let them get to a real one. EEK!

I've been meaning to call or email, but don't want to bug you. I've thought of you a dozen times or more and wondered what you're up to.

We were so sad to not get to say goodbye (our fault) and have talked to Madi about having Tori as a pen pal to stay in contact.

We hope all is well. You are greatly missed.
